Main Aims/Objectives

It is intended to:
-provide students with concepts and mathematical techniques that are essential for the understanding of topics covered in other courses of undergraduate
- Promote the ability to use mathematics effectively to solve "real problems".

Specific Aims/Objectives

It is intended that students acquire the concepts and techniques of elementary calculus of real functions of a real variable.

Skills to be acquired

At the end of the unit the student should be able to:
- Handle real functions of a real variable, including derivation and sketch graphs.

Teaching Procedures

Contents are presented in lectures following a methodology exhibition.
Where necessary texts are available for deeper matters. Practice sheets are provided to the student to solve, assisted during lessons TP.

Evaluation Type

Continuous assessment is based on two written tests lasting one hour each, provided that the student have an attendance of more than 70%.

theorists.
