Main Aims/Objectives

Sensitize students to the design of products, services and environments suitable for human diversity, including children, older adults, disabled, sick or placed at a disadvantage by circumstances users.

Most of the barriers that limit the full exercise of active citizenship are designed and built by men.

In this sense, it is necessary to create a new approach that addresses this social dimension of project practice.

Specific Aims/Objectives

In contemporary society, there are many senior citizens who live in environments overcrowded, unsafe and polluted that, by their nature, offer little opportunity for learning games and leisure.

Therefore, the following specific objectives of this C.U. are the awareness of the various actors in the creation and management of public spaces for the issue of physical accessibility and the full enjoyment of equipment for all population.

Skills to be acquired

To understand that designing for senior citizens provides a unique opportunity to deal with users with very specific characteristics, and is also a synonymous with increased responsibility for intervening in the process.

This follows the fact that we are facing an undoubted opportunity to project foreseeing long-term results, to enrich senior citizens experiences, building effectively increased sensitivity of the future adult to issues of inclusiveness.
