Main Aims/Objectives
This course comes after previous teachings about history of architecture genesis, supported on contents of the curricular units that integrate the Syllabus of the course in previous years.
Accordingly, it is the general aim of this course a reflection on the aspects that led to the contemporary architecture.
Specific Aims/Objectives
It is intended that the student understands in an embracing manner the social, economic and cultural aspects that are underlying the design and production of artefacts - from object to town - appropriately framed in their temporal dimension that within this course if relates to the period between Art Nouveau and contemporaneity.
Skills to be acquired
The student should be able to make a critical assessment of the architectural language and its multiple spatial, formal, constructive and functional meanings, along with the understanding of changes of collective destinies, the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge, extra-disciplinary analogies and the evolution of economic activities.
Teaching Procedures
From a historical, theoretical and conceptual context,, to each thematic match an analysis of the built buildings, focused on spatial and aesthetic aspects. This analysis will be done by the use of text, image and video.

Evaluation Type
The evaluation is performed according to:
- General Regulations of Knowledge and Skills of Lusíada Universities;
- Specific Rules for Evaluation of Architecture Course .
In this sense, the continuous evaluation of the course will be held through two written tests that reflect the learning of content, applied to the proposed exercises.

2. Performing open classes with specialists that allow the exchange of different experiences and
