Main Aims/Objectives
To give the students de ability of using graphical and geometrical codes, rigorous and measurable, that enables them to change from the three dimensions of the space to the drawing and vice-versa.
The development of the abstraction ability.
The development of the logical-deductive abilities, especially the ones related with the perception and the representation of shapes and objects in the space.
Specific Aims/Objectives
To give the students the ability to understand and use the established codes in the representation of the objects in perspective.
To demonstrate the correspondence between the systems that derive from the parallel projection and the drawing perspective, which has its origin in the central projection.
Skills to be acquired
The development of perception and representation abilities of real or idealized shapes, in the spatial context.
To recognize the function and the particular vocation of each one of the representational methods that derive from the Descriptive Geometry.
Teaching Procedures
Generally, the transmitted knowledge will be applied in concrete problems. The practical lessons will be the ultimate place for experimentation and validation of the theoretical knowledge.

Different methods of drawing perspectives, that involve more and more advanced knowledge on Geometry:
- Direct method ("costruzione legittima")
- Method of the straights lines and vanishing points
- Method of the rotation of a plane
- The dividing point method (measuring lines)

Evaluation Type
The adopted method is the result of the usage of the University’s Regulation on the Knowledge and Competences. The evaluation focuses on the frequency tests and exams, together with two tests that enable the quantification of the evaluation grade.
Teaching Resources
The didactical material used will be essential, with the aim to give the students the ability of abstraction and spatial visualization.
Drawings on the board will be the main procedure. Furthermore, the projection of computer-generated images might also be used.
