Main Aims/Objectives

Statistics, to be framed in the curriculum of a degree in Marketing, aims at giving students an overview of the use of statistical methods in social research.

Specific Aims/Objectives

It is intended to provide students with sufficient knowledge and tools which relate to the use of logic and methods of mathematics and statistics in the quantitative study of the environment, based on the collection, interpretation and quantification of the data.

Skills to be acquired

Understand the techniques that allow collection of data in Marketing.
Understand the methods of quantification of data.
Understand the differences between the various techniques of data analysis.
Understand the use of the results.

Teaching Procedures

Theoretical concepts are developed and solved exercises on the same application. Students will have a set of exercises to practice skills.

Evaluation Type

The evaluation will be done according to the rules chosen by students. Attendance sheet will be passed in all classes. Work will be undertaken to assess continuing to designate in a timely manner, and will be held mid-term evaluation evidence.

Teaching Resources

The lectures will be given using electronic means. Will be available a set of more practical exercises for students to acquire skills. All the material support classes will be loaded in the University´s e-learning.
