Main Aims/Objectives
To understand the concept of deviance, normal and abnormal.
To promote knowledge on the main theoretical explanations of deviant behavior.
To reflect on the implications of different theories for intervention in deviant behavior.
Specific Aims/Objectives
To understand the conceptualizations of deviance, normality and pathology.
To know the theoretical contributions of biology, psychology and social sciences in understanding the deviant behavior.
To foster the understanding of the explanatory transdisciplinary and complexity of deviant behavior.
Skills to be acquired
To know the theoretical developments on the nature and significance of deviance, normality and pathology.
To demonstrate knowledge of the main theories applied to the understanding of deviant behavior.
To be able to explain deviant behavior related to specific contexts and behaviors according to the theories studied.
To be able to apply and explain the different theories of the current criminal reality.

1.3 - Complexity of deviant behavior: Conceptual issues related to notions of normality and pathology, anti-social behavior, marginality, delinquency and crime.
