Main Aims/Objectives
To understand the concepts of “deviance”, “normal and pathological” and the sciences of deviant behaviour;
To promote knowledge concerning the main biological and psychological perspectives to the understanding of deviant/delinquent behavior.
Specific Aims/Objectives
To introduce the concepts of deviance, normal and pathological and the sciences of deviant behavior
To know the main theoretical contributions of psychological sciences, specially psychology, to the understanding of deviant/delinquent behavior.
To introduce the theoretical contributions of biological theories to the understanding of deviant/delinquent behavior.
Skills to be acquired
Know the theoretical developments of the nature and meaning of deviance, normality and pathology
Demonstrate knowledge about the main theories applied to the understanding of deviant behavior.
Explain the deviant behavior applied to different contexts and behaviors through different theories
Apply theories to the different criminal realities.

- Identification of the concepts of deviance / deviant behavior, normal, pathological and transgressive in the framework of the biological, psychological and social sciences.
II- Psychology of deviant behavior
1. Introduction
2. Basic concepts and main theoretical paradigms of Psychology (psychoanalysis, behaviorism, Gestalt, humanism and cognitivism).
3. General approach of theoretical and empirical contributions to the study of deviant and delinquent behavior (cognitive processes, psychosocial processes and moral development)
