Main Aims/Objectives
To understand the concepts of deviance, normal and abnormal.
To promote knowledge about the main biological and psychological theories on the explanation of deviant behavior.
To reflect on the implications of different theories for intervention in deviant behavior.
Specific Aims/Objectives
To understand the conceptualizations of deviance, normality and pathology.
To know the theoretical contributions of biology and psychology in understanding the deviant behavior.
To foster the understanding of the explanatory transdisciplinary and complexity of deviant behavior.
Skills to be acquired
To know the theoretical developments on the nature and significance of deviance, normality and pathology.
To demonstrate knowledge about biological and psychological theories applied to the understanding of deviant behavior.
To be able to explain deviant behavior related to specific contexts and behaviors according to the theories studied.
To be able to apply and explain the different theories of the current criminal reality.

1. Introduction
1.1. General concepts about deviant behavior
1.2. Deviant behavior definitions, identification and differentiation of concepts
1.3. Complexity of deviant behavior: Conceptual issues related to notions of normality and pathology, anti-social behavior, marginality, delinquency and crime.
2.1. Contribute of Biological Theories
2.1. Bio-antropology, Frenology and Criminal Antropology
2.2. Genetics, biochemistry, neurology, neuropsychology and neurophysiology
2. Contribute of Psychological theories
2.1. Core concepts and main paradigms of Psychology: Psychoanalysis, Behaviorism, Gestalt, Humanism and cognitivism.
2.2. Social learning theory
2.3. Criminal lifestyle theory.
3. Personality and deviant behavior
3.1. Introduction to Psychology of personality.
3.1.1. Concept definitions (personality, trait, dimension).
