Main Aims/Objectives

To reflect the role of victims in the different types of crime.
To understand and integrate the historical and theoretical development of victimology and the main psychosocial and criminological perspectives in violence explanation.
To analyze the contemporary issues of victimology.

Specific Aims/Objectives

To understand the current victimology issues and development of knowledge about the transformation in the way of conceptualizing the victim, contextualizing it historically.
To understand interpersonal violence and its implications, particularly with regard to domestic violence, violence against elderly, neglect, maltreatment, child sexual abuse, bullying, rape and stalking.

Skills to be acquired

To understand the impact of different forms of victimization.
To develop knowledge about forms of victimization today.
