Main Aims/Objectives

The aim of this course is to promote in students skills and knowledge of research methods and techniques that
represent a significant improvement over the training in this field acquired in the 1st cycle of studies.

Specific Aims/Objectives

- Understand the relevance of CP research for professional practice
-Integrate conceptual, methodological and ethical aspects in the questioning of the phenomena;
-to identify the main areas of research in CP;
-read and critically interpret research literature on CP, with sensitivity to the contributions, limitations, and
implications for practice;
-Demonstrate understanding and mastery in the methods and data analysis techniques most commonly used in
studies of empirical validation of interventions in CP;
-consolidate the knowledge and skills necessary for the planning and development

Skills to be acquired

Teaching Procedures

Active and expository method will be articulated with the interrogative method.
Teaching techniques will be used such as brainstorming, critical analysis and presentation and discussion of
different types of research in clinical psychology.

1.Research in clinical psychology (RCP); 2. RCP Plans / designs; 3. RCP Domains; 4. Statistical and Clinical interpretation of RCP results;

Evaluation Type

The assessment requires a minimum attendance of 70% of classes and consists in carrying out
a critical analysis (conceptual, methodological and ethical aspects, contributions, limitations and implications
for practice) of a publication describing an investigation in Clinical Psychology (60%) and carrying out a final
written exam (40%).
