Main Aims/Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide Advanced Microeconomics tools to analyze economic problems.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Through the course of Microeconomics it is intended that students can understand, in detail, the objectives and behaviors of the two principal economic agents: consumers and producers.

Skills to be acquired

At the end of the course, students should be able to understand and formalize fundamental concepts of microeconomic theory.

Teaching Procedures

In practical classes the exposed material is always accompanied by an illustration with real cases. The tutorial lessons are designed to clarify questions and practical discussion of the issues taught in practical classes. It will be shown to students appropriate readings within the Course Bibliography as a way to complement the content transmitted in class.

Evaluation Type

The evaluation is in accordance with the "Regulamento Geral de Avaliação de Conhecimentos para o 2o Ciclo de Estudos da Universidade Lusíada". Accomplishment, presentation and discussion of research work, more a final exam with a rating of 60% and 40% respectively.
