Main Aims/Objectives
Prepare the students with a set of analytical and practical tools that allows knowledge and technical analysis of current macroeconomic problems and thus understand its origin and resolution. The main topics covered in this course are: economic growth, unemployment, budget deficit and public debt.
Specific Aims/Objectives
The intention of this course that students understand the current issues of the economy and dominate the macroeconomic policy instruments, in order to obtain certain pre-defined goal.
Skills to be acquired
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:
• understand the macroeconomic performance of economies and realize how they are interrelated;
• analyze the labor market, and
• understand the budget deficit and public debt.
Teaching Procedures
The classes have a component of exposition, which are used in audiovisual media and a practical component where through the analysis or problem solving are explored concepts explained.
