Presentation

Designers are professionals who understand the language spoken by things. Their activities include, among others, laying the R&D groundwork for wide-ranging projects, implementing the same projects, identifying the opportunity for intervention through design, exercising concept design, product design, services design – independently and in teams – and teaching design theory, history and criticism. There are, therefore, many professional opportunities in a vast range of fields. The course is comprised of three years of study in basic principles and advanced topics. The success of our students in national and international competition, and the feedback from our graduates in the workplace, give ample testimony to the value of the program and its achievements.

Career Opportunities

The program is designed to address the overall demand for designers, and as a result, is generalist in scope and broad in its targets. A designer can be an entrepreneur beginning her/his own enterprise, a free-lancer, or a full-time technician within a business unit of a service firm or institution. As a researcher, a designer can fill the role of teacher, presenting his/her work at conferences, through publications, in specialist magazines (Management, Architecture, Economics, Engineering, etc.). “The twenty-first century will be the century of Design,” (John Kao).
