Main Aims/Objectives

Capacity of two-dimensional representation on the AutoCAD platform, both as an instrument of design, as well as representation and final presentation of architectural models.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Foster the use of the software, AutoCAD, development of design exercises / representation to develop other courses.
Bringing together students from the professional use of this software as the most widely used among architects.

Skills to be acquired

Recognize and correctly handle the interface, AutoCAD. Design and edit graphics and geometric entities. Parameterize different entities depending on the different properties associated. Using the Layers command in all its aspects. Insertion of objects creating reusable blocks. Handling and use of objects available in the Design Center software. Dimensioning and annotations. Definition and use of layouts. Printing and Plotting.

Teaching Procedures

In practical classes are exhibited and demonstrated some of the features and software methodologies. To perform some exercises with a more restricted, for better understanding and learning, but students are asked to perform an exercise more comprehensive, more complete application for the matter throughout the semester.

Coordinate systems and units of work.
Design of graphical and geometric entities.
Editing entities.
Parameterization and use layers.
Creation and integration of reusable objects.
Use and editing of objects available in the Design Center.
Methods of dimensioning and annotation.
Differences between Model and Paper Space.
Creating and Using Layouts.
Printing and Plotting.

Evaluation Type

The evaluation of the student depends on an attendance greater than or equal to 70%. The classification is obtained by the notes of the two tests carried out continuous assessment throughout the semester with a weighting of 40%, and the proof of frequency, with a weighting of 60%.

Illustration and explanation of the substance and the exercises considered through the use of the video projector.
