Main Aims/Objectives

Basic knowledge in European law, with a special focus on primary law (from Rome treaty to Lisbon treaty) and the European construction phenomenon.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Specific aims: concepts, principles, sources and essential rules regarding the institutional framework, the functioning and the activity of EU.

Skills to be acquired

Ability to understand European law, its complexity and evolution (also the consequences of progressive enlargement).
Abilty to understand and apply primary and secondary European law in specific legal problems coming from national or continental perspective.

Teaching Procedures

According to general rules of Universidade Lusíada regarding teaching methodology, two written tests will be mandatory. Quizes may be used (on a voluntary basis) at the end of each part of the program.
