Main Aims/Objectives

- Facilitate the understanding of the utility of the scientific methodology in the investigation in Social Sciences
- Know the importance of the questions raised by this discipline for the future exercise professional of the students

Specific Aims/Objectives

- Develop necessary qualifications for the practice of the scientific investigation in the command of the psychological sciences
- Develop the critical capacity and of analysis of the scientific literature in the command of the psychology and of the human sciences
- Debate theoretical questions and of inherent methodological nature to the scientific investigation in the command of the psychology

Skills to be acquired

- Dominate the basic vocabulary of the methodology
- Describe and represent with rigour the knowledges purchased
- Reveal qualifications of analysis and reflection

Teaching Procedures

- Presentations with Power Point in the classes of theoretical-practise classes with emphasis in the participation
- Work in groups and accompaniment individual in the classes of orientation tutorial

Programme

1. The scientific knowledge: characteristics and differences with the sense comun
2. The process of scientific investigation: definition of the problem and review; hypothesis and variables; the sample; collect of data.
3. The investigation design.
4. Methods of investigation: Descriptive method, correlacional method, differential method and experimental method.
5. The conception of scientific documents.
6. APA style.

Evaluation Type

Continuous assessment with two tests and a relatory.
