Main Aims/Objectives
- To provide students with a strategic vision of human resource management, enabling them to integrate human capital into the organisation´s strategy, thereby creating value and fostering competitive advantages.
- To allow students to develop a theoretical understanding of the subject and grasp the main challenges involved in people management.
Specific Aims/Objectives
- Position strategic human resource management within the scope of corporate strategy
- Understand the strategic development and implementation process as applied to human resource management
- Recognise the employer brand as a strategic approach to human resource management
- Understand the connection between attracting, retaining, and developing people

- Apply HR strategies aligned with corporate strategy
- Formulate and implement HR strategies
- Plan the development of an employer brand
- Understand the interconnection between the goals of attracting, retaining, and developing people
Teaching Procedures
An expository and analytical method is applied. After a presentation, the topics are discussed and problems are posed to encourage group discussion and the exchange of viewpoints. A case study–based methodology is also applied. Practitioner seminars are embedded into the course to ensure a practical view and direct connection to the industry reality.

Evaluation Type
Guided by the University´s assessment regulations, based on two written tests and coursework developed in tutorial sessions, complemented by the final exam. Weightings are defined in the regulations.
