Main Aims/Objectives
As part of the curriculum of a Management Degree, Data Analysis aims to provide students with an overview of the use of applied quantitative methods, while promoting the development of a sustainable awareness regarding the responsible use of resources and minimising the environmental and social impact of management practices.
Specific Aims/Objectives
It is intended to provide students the knowledge and enough instruments which relate to the use of logic and statistical methods in the quantitative study of the environment, based on the collection, interpretation and quantification of data, using exemples of sustainability.
Skills to be acquired
Understand the techniques that allow the collection of data in economics.
Understand the methods of quantification of data.
To understand the differences between the various techniques for data analysis.
Understand the use of the results.
Teaching Procedures
Theoretical and practical exercises solved on the same concepts are developed. Students will have a set of exercises to practice the skills acquisition

Students will be assessed according to the assessment regime of Lusiada Universities.
Teaching Resources
The lectures will be given using electronic means and SPSS software. Will be provided a set of more practical exercises for students to acquire skills. All material support classes will be placed on the e-learning system at the University.

(1) Promote Sustainable Statistical Literacy: Empower students to understand, analyse and interpret data critically, supporting business decisions aligned with ethical principles and sustainable development.
(2) Apply Data to Support Organisational Sustainability: Use descriptive, correlation and regression analysis methods to identify patterns that can optimise resources and reduce waste.
