Main Aims/Objectives

This curricular unit addresses different forms of victimization, with relevance today, exploring its main characteristics, principles of intervention and support structures for victims.

Specific Aims/Objectives

- To acquire knowledge about different forms of contemporary victimization, focusing its characteristics, risk factors and consequences;
- To develop skills of understanding and critical analysis with regard to strategies and mechanisms for intervention and support with victims;
- To critically reflect around the ethical assumptions underlying the development of research in the field of victimology.

Skills to be acquired

- To develop knowledge about current forms of victimization, understanding its impact;
- To recognize the main structures and mechanisms of intervention with victims;
- To acquire knowledge about the ethical principles underlying the research with victims

Teaching Procedures

Demonstrative methodology, combining both practical exercises and the analysis of scientific works.
