Main Aims/Objectives

Encourage a comprehensive and explanatory training, in terms of the different bio-psycho-socio-cultural variables that intervene in deviation from norm behaviors, namely, drug addiction, crime and its association.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Enable contact / study and understanding of different changes, often observed in human behavior.

Develop cognitive, instrumental and interpersonal skills that allow identification risk situations, their immediate management and effective referral.

Skills to be acquired

- Instrumental skills, acquiring scientific and methodological knowledge,
deepening know-how in the "drug-crime" field.
- Research skills (bibliographic review and synthesis).
- Systemic skills, using the knowledge acquired in problem solving practical.
- Interpersonal skills, maximizing the capacities for interaction, reflection and self-criticism.

Teaching Procedures

T / P classes will be expository, using audio-visual support.
The O.T. classes will deal with the presentation and discussion of specific topics in the "Drugs-Crime" domains, as well as clarifying doubts and supporting the student´s work.

Programme

I - Drug Addiction / Crime - An introduction
The bio-psycho-social approach to drug addiction and crime.
Drug addiction: Historical background; Multifactorial phenomenon; Biology discourse; The nosological issue.
Adolescence (s) / protective factors and risk factors.

II - Drugs and their consumption
Drugs / Experimental use; occasional; regular abuse; dependence / Tolerance / Withdrawal syndrome / Overdose / Relapse;
Consumption / relapse indicators.
Psycholeptic, psychoanalytic and psychodysleptic drugs / characterization:
Alcohol, Heroin, Cocaine, Cannabis, MDMA, Amphetamines, LSD, Mushrooms, Ketamine, GHB.

III. Intervention methods and strategies:
The Prochaska and DeClemente model.
The motivational approach.
Treatment structures.
RRMD and social reintegration.

IV - Drug and crime relationship.
Models and trajectories of the drug-crime relationship.
Compulsive / systemic psychopharmacological / economic crimes.
The drug addict style; the delinquent style; the drug / crime style.

V - Legal regulation.
Criminalization and decriminalization laws and movements.
National drug policy.
Infringement of drug and prison law.
The intervention of the Drug Addiction Deterrence Commissions.

Evaluation Type

The evaluation will be made through two written tests and the presentation of a paper.
Elements related to attendance, punctuality and participation in classes will be taken into account.
