Main Aims/Objectives

i. Provide a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and practical perspectives of clinical criminology.
ii. Explore assessment and intervention methods used in clinical criminology.
iii. Promote the application of theoretical knowledge in the analysis and management of emergency and crisis situations.

Specific Aims/Objectives

i. Understand theories related to criminal behavior.
ii. Know the clinical method and the phenomenological perspective, together with observation and evaluation techniques used in clinical practice, including actuarial criminology.
iii. Analyze the concepts of dangerousness and risk in clinical criminology, study criminal recidivism and learn assessment techniques for better case management.

Skills to be acquired

i. Acquire skills in the application of clinical assessment methods.
ii. Develop empathy and sensitivity to understand the needs of individuals involved in criminal situations.
iii. Promote ethical conduct and professional responsibility in the practice of clinical criminology.

Teaching Procedures

I. Expository Classes: To introduce fundamental concepts and historical contextualization.
ii. Case Studies: Analysis of real cases for practical application of theoretical concepts.
iii. Debates and Discussions: Debate sessions to stimulate criticism and reflection on the topics covered
