Main Aims/Objectives

- Perform a theoretical and practical approach to the issue of the product design in the relational spaces.
- Increase research capacity, principles and problems arising from the practical application of a project methodology in order to develop concepts and support the implementation of a project.
- Promote the design knowledge through the approach and realization of different relational spaces.

Specific Aims/Objectives

- Stimulate the analysis and criticism of the product design in space.
- Relate theoretical and practical knowledge, cultural, social, aesthetic, constructive, technical, functional and economics.
- Develop project-thinking to explore issues, harmonize, regulate, create, test concepts and conjectures, develop new construction methods and viable.
- Relate harmoniously objects, body and space, by a personal and interpersonal perspective.

Skills to be acquired

- Acquire theoretical basis for the conceptual foundation of projects within relational spaces.
- Know adequacy means of project methodology to integrate the creative process as a mean of project feasibility.
-Have ability to relate object, body and space, maximizing the quality and integration as a whole.
- Enable the establishment of a common language and relational communication throughout the project development.

Teaching Procedures

The methodology to be applied is based on the theoretical and practical nature of the discipline, increasing theoretical contents through the lecture method, and the realization of monitored project exercises, guided by the teacher. The demonstrative and active method plan to promote practical discipline and direct contact between the teacher and the student, giving particular attention to design and development tasks/jobs.

- Structuring and conceptual reasons, at the project-level.
- The body, the things and the perception of the world (Merleau-Ponty).
- Functional and morphological analysis of products: systems, subsystems and configurations.
- Emotional design today.
- Practice project initiated by trial creativity.
- Abstraction, construction and spatial composition.
- Critical thinking on a technical, constructive, materiality, appearance or essence level.
- Representation means.

Evaluation Type

It is proposed an assessment based on tests and on the result of continuous assessment exercises developed during the semester.
Evaluation field are: technical, formal qualities, creativity, expressiveness, overcoming difficulties, the adequacy of solutions against the required, autonomy of work, spirit of cooperation, interest shown by the activities, attendance and professionalism.
