Universidade Lusíada acolheu 10.ª Conferência Internacional ENSEC 2026

A Universidade Lusíada (Porto) acolheu nos passados dias 9, 10 e 11 de setembro de 2026, a 10.ª edição da Conferência da European Network for Social and Emotional Competences (ENSEC 2026), organizada pelo Centro de Investigação em Psicologia para o Desenvolvimento (CIPD), em colaboração com a rede europeia ENSEC. Subordinado ao tema "Social Emotional Learning in a Fast-Changing World" ("Aprendizagem socioemocional num mundo em rápida mudança"), o evento reuniu no campus portuense investigadores, professores, estudantes e profissionais vindos de várias partes do mundo

Com mais de 140 inscrições, a ENSEC 2026 afirmou-se como um dos principais encontros internacionais dedicados às competências sociais e emocionais. Ao longo dos três dias de conferência, o programa científico incluiu um número elevado de comunicações, pósteres, simpósios e workshops, refletindo o dinamismo e a diversidade da investigação atual nesta área.

O programa contou com três keynote speakers de reconhecido mérito internacional: Linda Theron, professora de Psicologia Educacional na University of Pretoria, África do Sul, cuja investigação se centra na resiliência de jovens face à violência estrutural; Thanos Karatzias, da Edinburgh Napier University e do Rivers Centre for Traumatic Stress, no Reino Unido, especialista em trauma psicológico e em perturbação de stress pós-traumático complexo; e Celeste Simões, da Faculdade de Motricidade Humana da Universidade de Lisboa, cuja investigação incide sobre a saúde e a resiliência na adolescência e sobre intervenções socioemocionais em contexto escolar.

O caráter internacional da conferência esteve patente não só na participação dos oradores convidados, mas também na diversidade de países representados entre os participantes, reafirmando o papel da ENSEC enquanto plataforma europeia de referência para a partilha de investigação e de boas-práticas no domínio da aprendizagem socioemocional. A realização da ENSEC 2026 em Portugal, e em particular na Universidade Lusíada, constitui um reconhecimento do trabalho desenvolvido pelo CIPD na promoção da aprendizagem socioemocional e reforça a projeção internacional da instituição de acolhimento.

Lusíada University (Lisbon) hosted the 10th ENSEC International Conference Lusíada University hosted on 9, 10 and 11 of September, the 10th edition of the Conference of the European Network for Social and Emotional Competences (ENSEC 2026), organised by the Psychology for Development Research Centre (CIPD), in partnership with the European ENSEC network. Held under the theme "Social Emotional Learning in a Fast-Changing World", the event brought together researchers, academics, students and practitioners from various parts of the world on the Porto campus.

With more than 140 registrations, ENSEC 2026 established itself as one of the leading international gatherings dedicated to social and emotional competences. Over the course of the three-day conference, the scientific programme featured a high number of presentations, posters, symposia and workshops, reflecting the dynamism and diversity of current research in the field.

The programme included three internationally distinguished keynote speakers: Linda Theron, Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, whose research focuses on youth resilience in the face of structural violence; Thanos Karatzias, of Edinburgh Napier University and the Rivers Centre for Traumatic Stress, United Kingdom, a specialist in psychological trauma and complex post-traumatic stress disorder; and Celeste Simões, of the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon, whose research focuses on adolescent health and resilience and on school-based social-emotional interventions.

The international character of the conference was evident not only in the participation of the guest speakers, but also in the wide range of countries represented among delegates, reaffirming ENSEC's role as a leading European platform for sharing research and good practice in social-emotional learning. Hosting ENSEC 2026 at Lusíada University, reflects recognition of the work carried out by CIPD in promoting social-emotional learning and further strengthens the host institution's international profile.
