Main Aims/Objectives
- Acknowledge that architecture is in fact essentially structural and built;
- Acknowledge that construction of architecture is carried out through
the coordination and harmonization of various subsystems, varying in time and space,
often different, incoherent and even antagonistic to each other;
- Students should acknowledge the importance of an informed design by a critical and ethic attitude towards the relation to society and the environment.
Specific Aims/Objectives
- Train students to understand the reason for constructive forms of architecture, both traditional and contemporary;
- Train students to understand the systems of light type construction;
- Train students to understand the systems of detailed design;
- Train students for an architectural design informed by an awareness of feasibility and constructive forms proposed.
Skills to be acquired
- Understanding and representation, both through two-dimensional and three-dimensional means, the two most important constructive means.
- Understanding and representation, both through two-dimensional and three-dimensional means, of the consistency between architectural form and its constructive materialization.
Teaching Procedures
Lectures and practical classes, with explanation and discussion of the program and development of practical work.

The evaluation will be continuous and permanent. The fundamental evaluation moments instituted will be accomplished: Assessment test and Final Exam. This evaluation will complement the one of the practical works.
Teaching Resources
The specific evaluation criteria are:
- ability to solve the practical problems presented;
- ability of critical analysis and synthesis;
- research capacity and autonomy;
