Main Aims/Objectives
The class on History of Portuguese Culture is intended to introduce students to an overview of Portuguese culture in order to understand its historical evolution and main characteristics.
Specific Aims/Objectives
To acquire the skills to be able to characterize Portuguese culture throughout time, as well as the necessary questioning for an understanding of our cultural heritage as a result of various factors which, across history, have contributed to its formation.
Skills to be acquired
The contents of the program were designed to endow students with the specific knowledge in the area of History of Portuguese Culture, and develop a critical reflection on its specificity and national identity.
Teaching Procedures
Self-learning methodology based on participatory classes: personal interventions, both oral and written, and group discussions, reflection on specific topics of Portuguese culture in order to develop each one´s ability to analyze; team work to capture the characteristics of Portuguese culture and develop research capacities, communication and persuasion.

Evaluation Type
The evaluation system is carried out according to the rules defined in the General Regulations for Knowledge Assessment of Universities Lusíada. In this sense, it is taken into account the continuous evaluation, including attendance, participation, completion of works, short tests, etc..
