Main Aims/Objectives

To analyze the characteristics and potentialities of observation and interview techniques as structural methodologies of gathering information in Psychology

Specific Aims/Objectives

To identify and characterize different types of interviews and observation techniques
To analyze the potentialities and limitations of interview and observation techniques
To build an interview guideline and an observation grid
To explore procedures to analyze data collected by means of an interview and an observation
To know the ethical and deontological principles that guide the use of an interview and an observation in Psychology

Skills to be acquired

Knowledge on the characteristics and potentialities of observation and interview techniques in different contexts
Identification and characterization of different types of interviews
Identification and characterization of different types of observations
Development of an interview guide and an observation grid

Teaching Resources

According to the RGACC, the assessment of the curricular unit is constituted of two modes: continuous and final.
Continuous assessment:
1- Attendance of 70% of classes
2- Two written tests: on the theoretical component of the course
3- Other assessment elements: a written essay applying the concepts and methods of the psychological models to specific situations.
Weighting: 2 tests ~ 75% written tests; Other elements of assessment = 25%. Continuous assessment corresponds to 60% of the fin
