Main Aims/Objectives

This course allows the development of skills in management and accounting, with great use to any degree in management. The student will be able to establish contacts with the problems and the daily experiences of a company. The course is considered a training period for the graduate´s future professional activity.

Specific Aims/Objectives

The specific objectives of the course are:
- earning about the way in which the various administrative tasks of a company are organized, from the reception of documents to their filing;
- personnel management and declarative consequences;
- stock management
- financial/treasury management
- clearance of contributions and taxes and fill the respective statements;
- ethical and deontological; and
- internal control practices.

Skills to be acquired

It is intended that students are able to:
- know and use specific management software;
- prepare all the tasks of manager and accountant; and,
- Develop the activity of a company manager, namely a financial manager.

Teaching Procedures

The student must autonomously but oriented way, perform all Manager / Accountant jobs in fictitious company assigned to it.

Programme

I Chapter - Software
Presentation and practice of using the adopted management software:
- general structure of the software;
- the company database; and
- the tasks/objectives to be developed autonomously in the fictitious company.

Chapter II - Month Tasks
Execution of the Manager´s monthly tasks in the fictitious company assigned:
- Accounting organization in the company;
- Proceed according to the ethics and deontology of accountant;
- Control systems; and,
- Compliance with the periodic tax obligations to be fulfilled by the company.

Evaluation Type

According to the General Knowledge Assessment System of Universidade Lusíada.

Teaching Resources

A laboratory room with all the materials needed in an office, including computers.
