To know how to work with 3D software.

Specific Aims/Objectives

To know how to work with the CAD software - SolidWorks.

Skills to be acquired

To create and model 3D objects with SolidWorks.

To model based on a drawing of an object in isometric perspective.

To know how to assemble different parts in an assembly file.

Project ortogonal views in European Method.

Work with materials and textures.

Teaching Procedures

The classes will be subdivided in a theoretical part, where it will be used the expositive method, and in a practical part, where it will be used the demonstrative and the active methods.

Programme

CAD 3D - Solidworks: Introduction.
1. Methods of working with SolidWorks. Main interface tools.
2. 2D sketch tools.
3. 3D tools.
4. Assembly of parts.
5. Technical drawing of objects.

Evaluation Type

The students will be evaluated by their behaviour in the class:
- Assiduity;
- Participation;
- Interest and commitment.

And also by the two tests made during the semester:
- Technical dexterity and the ability to conceive the project and to solve the problems that might arise;
- Quality of the design.
