Main Aims/Objectives
This curricular unit pursues the objective to promote knowledge and advanced skills in research methods and qualitative statistical analysis in applied psychology, and with the learning objectives of the program: “to promote the development of advanced research skills in applied psychology” and “to promote autonomy in the development of research in applied psychology domains”.
Specific Aims/Objectives
In this UC it is expected that students are able to:
- acquire knowledge about qualitative data analysis methods
- select and adapt the most appropriate method according to the research questions and hypotheses
- perform advanced qualitative data analysis
- interpret the results obtained according to the research questions and hypotheses
- write the results obtained using scientific language
Skills to be acquired
Qualitative data analysis skills using MAXQDA software.
Teaching Procedures
Expository/demonstrative, and interactive methodologies with reflective/corrective feedback, with expositions/demonstrations on qualitative data analysis methods and techniques, promoting students´ competence in carrying them out (O1,O2). Students should train the application and execution of analyzes using qualitative data analysis methods, using software (MAXQDA). Students will train the execution of these analyzes in the PI interviews/resources of the R&D centers, provided in the UC (O3,O4).

Evaluation Type
Students must have a minimum attendance of 70% to classes. The evaluation will be continuous and will consist of 3 theoretical-practical work to be carried out during classes.
