Main Aims/Objectives
- Give students the ability to understand and apply the main concepts, tools and techniques for managing the operations necessary for the production of goods and services provided by an organization.
- Development of analysis, modeling and decision-making skills in solving problems in the scope of Operations Management and preparing students for negotiation processes with business partners in the scope of Distribution.
Specific Aims/Objectives
- Approach and understanding of Operations Management knowledge for subsequent application of modern techniques and methods of solving production problems.
- Be able to establish objectives compatible with the organization´s strategy.
- To develop skills on LEAN Thinking, supply chain management and quality management, with students being able to understand the importance of rationalizing the use of organisations´ resources.
Skills to be acquired
- Understand the positioning of the operations function within the organization.
- Understand strategic thinking and its contribution to competitiveness.
- Apply knowledge in optimizing existing production and distribution systems.
- Knowing how to apply quality analysis measures.
Teaching Procedures
- Expository classes using the presentation of slides and the analysis of exemplary practical cases; carrying out practical exercises; analysis and discussion of examples; in the tutorial classes, work is carried out to apply the material covered.
