Main Aims/Objectives

The course has as general objectives initiation to the practice of the project, as a method and way of thinking and / or intervene on an experimental and creative aspects.
It is intended that the student develops a working logic from the confrontation with problems resulting from the interaction with the environment, an analytical and critical attitude consequently, whether the exercise of practical activity, whether in the conceptualisation of his creative universe.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Start the practice of project design;
• Exercising methodologies thought an experimental and creative aspects;
• Interact with the environment in an analytical and critical perspective;
• Develop the creative capacity;
• Reflect on the practice of design, its implications in shaping contemporary culture material and the consumer society.
• To understand the dialectics of multidisciplinary professional designer practice.

Skills to be acquired

• Understand the specificity of design practice and areas of expertise of the designer versus society;
• To acquire knowledge for the analysis of visual image and in the context of corporate identity;
• Know and contact with works of diverse authors;
• Reflect, analyze and understand some of the phenomena operated in transforming societies
contemporary;
• Understand the possibilities of narrative content objects;
• Reflect on the problems of contemporary design.

Teaching Procedures

THEORETICAL CLASSES - Exhibition and demonstration of program contents through audiovisual resources, specific and complementary bibliography.
PRACTICAL - Practical application of course content by performing exercises and assignments; - Comparative analysis and reflective, research and generating research
discussion platforms.
STUDY ACCOMPANIED - Monitoring in class exercises, work and analysis; -Recurso The Moodle platform for content presentation.

Programme

1. CONTEXT OF DESIGN - concept, notions, multidisciplinary, design and designers, research and concepts.
2. TWO-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN
- Composition Basics, perception, concepts of visual language, basic and elementary forms, layout and rhythms.
- Fundamentals of typography (typography, families, spacing, legibility and hierarchy);
- Color Fundamentals (terminology, contrast, harmony of colors, associations and readability).
3. COMPANY AND CONSUMPTION - artificial / natural, corporate image, taste, object, product and market.
4. PROBLEM AND DESIGN - role of the designer, methodologies, introduction to design practice, experimentation, creative universe and problematic in the context of 2D design.

Evaluation Type

CONTINUOUS EVALUATION
In each of the topics of the syllabus, it is expected to carry out exercises and work, mainly individual.
Students should perform all exercises or work as well as having positive performance for approval on continuous assessment.
It is estimated attendance (must be present 75% of classes).
FINAL EVALUATION
Corresponds to the continuous evaluation (60%) and the average note of the evaluation of the frequency of tests (40%).

Teaching Resources

In the course of teaching classes use the computer, overhead projector, frame and other support elements.
It may be required other resources that will be required during the classes.
Study visits and open classes will be other resources to use in class.
