Main Aims/Objectives
– To understand the specificities of multimedia design.
– To know how to think in multimedia design.
– To know how to structure an interactive multimedia project.
– To know how to conceive and create an interactive project.
– To know how to organize data in a multimedia space.
Specific Aims/Objectives
– To understand and apply HTML e CSS in practical projects.
– To know how to create an functional multimedia project.
– To know how to communicate and how to create atmospheres in multimedia.
– To know how to solve creative and technical problems autonomously.
– To have capability for experimentation and adaptation.
Skills to be acquired
At the end of the year, the students should know:
– how to project for multimedia design.
– how to conceive a flowchart.
– how to work in HTML 5 and CSS (introductory level).
– how to conceive interfaces and organize information.
– how to create content for a multimedia interactive project.
– how to experiment in multimedia design, specifically in site architecture, interface design and navigation.
Teaching Procedures
The teaching will have a theoretical part where we will be using the expositive and the interrogative methods, and a practical part, where we will be using the demonstrative and the active methods.
Programme
1. Introduction to the multimedia language.
Architecture of a multimedia project.
Concept of flowchart.
Concept of a digital portfolio.
2. Interface design.
Concept of interface.
Organization of the information in a 2D interactive surface. Connection between the several
elements (images, text, animations, interactive elements) between themselves and with the canvas.
The grid.
Hierarchy and scale.
Buttons, hot-spots and rollovers.
3. To create sites in HTML5 and CSS3, with the help of Adobe Dreamweaver.
To plan and structure a site.
To work with HTML and CSS code.
Evaluation Type
The students will be graded by their behaviour in classes (formative evaluation): assiduity; participation; interest and commitment. They will also be graded by works and tests made during the semester (summative evaluation): creative path from the idea to the final execution; technical skills and intellectual ability; originality; ability to communicate visually; quality of the design; knowledge of the programs; understanding of the contents administered during the course.
