EVENTOS

Fashion Business Case Writing Workshop

Hybrid event Bloomsbury Fashion Business Cases is an innovative digital resource that helps teachers and students worldwide engage with contemporary global issues faced by the fashion industry including fashtech, digital marketing, international brand management, sustainable fashion and responsible fashion business. Bloomsbury Fashion Business Cases is the first collection of business case studies specifically developed for fashion education. Bringing dynamic, experiential learning to the classroom, cases are authored by a global team of fashion academics, each one designed to support the pedagogical needs of an international readership of students, from foundation to graduate level, building knowledge, skills, and confidence across fashion disciplines from design to retail.

Cases are curated by our expert team of international academics to focus on essential business skills and knowledge required by fashion industry professionals. Cases range from 1,000 to 7,000 words and aimed at either introductory, intermediate or advanced levels. Cases cover a range of fashion industry topics and functions including: branding, marketing, fashion media, advertising and promotion; buying and merchandising and consumer behaviour; product development and supply chain management; entrepreneurship; ethics and sustainability. The resource is tailored to provide the tools to steer students toward success as they transition to a career in fashion.

A quality case study is an effective learning tool that presents a business problem or issue relevant to industry in an unbiased manner. Students analyze the business problem or issue, articulate and evaluate multiple solutions, and provide a recommendation to the company as to how the problem or issue should be addressed. Each case centres on a specific issue or opportunity, so the case should provide background information giving context to the problem in order to facilitate discussion and debate across a range of business questions. As well as all the information relevant to the case, each case is supplemented with a set of teaching notes to support delivery and assessment of the case.

Delivered by the Editor-in-Chief and European Regional Editor, both distinguished fashion academics, this workshop will provide participants with insights, information, demonstration and resources necessary to incorporate fashion case studies into their own sustainable fashion teaching.

Through the experiences of educators who have studied and practiced the case method of teaching, this tailored workshop will provide participants with insights, information, demonstration and resources necessary to incorporate fashion case studies into their own practice.
