Main Aims/Objectives

Provide students with theoretical knowledge that serve as a basis for the architectural project, as well as its importance in construction.
Provide students with knowledge that allows them to articulate the various elements that are part of the architectural project, enhancing the entire process.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Students shall see the process underlying the architectural project as an action of investigation and structuring of thought. The students also shall learn how to articulate the various elements of the process, increasing their creative potential.

Skills to be acquired

Students shall place the acquired knowledge in the context of the architectural project, as an integral part of the creative process and as a means of transforming the reality. At the same time, students shall place the acquired knowledge in the multidisciplinary context of contemporary architecture.

Teaching Procedures

Begining with the presentation of contents related to the ´way of doing´ architecture, using schematic drawings, texts, images and cartography, we will seek to raise discussion, reflection, critical ability and the elaboration of syntheses.

Evaluation Type

The continuous evaluation will be in accordance with the University´s Knowledge Assessment Regulation and will reflect the attendance, punctuality and participation of students, as well as the evaluation grade of two written tests.
