Main Aims/Objectives
O1. Consolidate and master the design methodology;
O2. Know and apply the fundamentals of three-dimensional design;
Promote critical awareness and encourage observation skills.
O3. Master the grammar of three-dimensional representation;
O4. Know how to technically communicate the project;
Promote research and experimentation.
O5. Building awareness of the professional context.
Expand the theoretical and practical view of students about the designer´s activity.
Specific Aims/Objectives
EO1. Understand the projects in their relationship with the constraints of materialization and
production;
EO2. Study new socially responsible and sustainable practices and behaviors;
EO3. Development and rigorous presentation of three-dimensional projects on a human scale;
EO4. Evaluate and select production and finishing materials and technologies.
EO5. Assimilate and transmit the interaction between Man and the scale and functionality of
artifacts.
Skills to be acquired
C1. Master the different stages of the design methodology: diagnose problems, define
objectives, process data, generate and evaluate alternatives, configure solutions and communicate results.
C2. Ability to organize the elements that structure the three-dimensional discourse;
C3. Ability to formulate emerging issues with initiative and entrepreneurial spirit;
C4. Ability to self-manage the process of investigation, questioning and proposition.
Teaching Procedures
Theoretical/practical classes:
-Exhibition and demonstration of cont. programs through audiovisual resources,
bibliography and webgraphy;
-Comparative and reflective analysis of Projects for classroom debates and development of
4 theoretical works;
-Experimentation and practical application of the syllabus by carrying out 4
practical jobs.

-Monitoring and guidance of works. individual students;

P1 PRODUCT DESIGN / ELECTRONIC
Focus: Design of a technological object; optional international contest.
1. Light fixture
-Initiation to three-dimensionality;
-Materials and techniques, originality, innovation and research;
-Ergonomics and anthropometry;
-Physical and psychological factors;
-Cultural dimension of an object;
-Ecology, life cycle of an object and consumer behavior;
-Recycling, excess consumption and environmental impact;
-Durability and functioning;
- Interpret the values and identity of a company leader;
-Maquetization;
- Technical drawings, quotations and 3D modeling;
-Planning, techniques and production costs.

P2. URBAN FURNITURE DESIGN_PARTNERSHIP WITH A COMPANY
Focus: Urban furniture
- Identification of brands and similar projects with national and international recognition;
- Cultural and social dimension of an object;
- Ecology, life cycle of an object and consumer behavior;
- Research of materials;
- Ability to understand the degree of rigor necessary for the production of a technological artifact;
- Domain of prototyping and production techniques;
- Adequacy of healthy, aesthetic, dimensional, cultural and ecological values;
- Mastery of technical drawings, quotations and 3D modeling, renders and models;
- Resolution of technical and formal challenges of a mass production project.
- Evaluation, control and selection of production and finishing technologies.
Interim Exercise
Focus: Project My Machine
- Identify authors and similar projects of international recognition;
- Ability to integrate procedural strategies and methodologies;
- Master volumes, structures, openings and other elements;
- Adapt healthy, aesthetic, dimensional, cultural and ecological values;
- Increase the repertoire of different materials, techniques and production costs;
- Mastering technical drawings, quotations, 3D modeling and renderings;
- Solve the technical and formal challenges of a medium-scale project.
- Ability to hierarchize and communicate.
P4. Product design
Focus: Mobility design in partnership with a company
- Materials and techniques, originality, innovation and research;
- Aesthetic/function relationship;
- Ergonomics and anthropometry;
- Physical and psychological factors;
- Cultural dimension of an object;
-Ecology, life cycle of an object and consumer behavior;
- Recycling, excess consumption and environmental impact;
- Durability and functioning;
- Interpret the values and identity of a company leader;
- Modeling;
- Prototyping;
- Technical drawings, quotations and 3D modeling;
- Planning, techniques and production costs.
Evaluation Type
the endorsement will be based on attendance, participation, commitment, debates and activities
(10%), in the execution and presentation. from 4 props. of work practices (60%) and in carrying out 4 theoretical exercices (30%).
