Main Aims/Objectives

To guide and accompany students in the conception and initial development of research projects from a perspective that favours the preparation of their doctoral theses.

Specific Aims/Objectives

Promote the preparation by students of a report on the research carried out and to be carried out with a view to the timely presentation of a doctoral thesis project.

Skills to be acquired

Ability to develop high-level autonomous research work, based on consistent planning instruments.

Teaching Procedures

Tutorial guidance, centred on the planning and monitoring of students´ individual work, as well as the discussion of the research problems they may face.

Programme

1. Choice of thesis topic
2. Delimitation of its scientific object. Importance, topicality and novelty of the topic.
3.Definition and justification of the thesis structure.
4.Presentation of a developed thesis project.
5.Review of the most relevant and recent literature on the thesis topic.

Evaluation Type

Continuous assessment of students is based on consideration of the following elements: 1. Attendance; 2. Timely fulfilment of scheduled research tasks, with an oral presentation of a research project carried out and to be carried out, as well as a written report.
